Who We Are

Letter from the Executive Director

Dear Friends & Supporters of John A. Logan College,

We are so thankful for the many friends and alumni who have contributed to the John A. Logan College Foundation throughout the years. Because of your generosity, the JALC Foundation awarded and administered more than 632 scholarships, totaling $780,500 to students who needed assistance during the 2009-2010 academic year. You, your financial and in-kind contributions, as well as your time and talent, continue to make a special difference as we work together to improve the quality of life for our students, their families, and the communities we serve.

With the consistent growth in enrollment the need for new scholarships is greater than ever before. John A. Logan College has experienced a 16-percent increase in student enrollment over the past five years. The spring 2011 enrollment is the highest in the history of the college with a total of 7,217 students. This is the 13th consecutive year that spring enrollment has increased over the previous year. As the number of students increases so does the need for new scholarships.

While tuition at John A. Logan College is among the lowest of community colleges in the State of Illinois, the fact remains that over 65% of our students rely on financial assistance to pursue their education. The College Foundation champions for those who dream of an education and great future through scholarship assistance. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of our students.

Your donation to the Annual Giving Campaign will directly support the Foundation which supports the mission of John A. Logan College. The JALC Foundation can assist you with matching your individual philanthropic goals with the needs of our students. We ask that you support our students and College by contributing to the Annual Giving Campaign. It's about more than just charity; it's about investing in your community.
